Up For School
With 58 million children around the world still not in school, the education charity Theirworld needed to create a message no government, politicians or leaders could ignore.
For such a grass-roots campaign, a simple toolkit was needed. One colour print; one typeface and a schoolbook-inspired palette meant the identity could be replicated by anyone around the world.
School books were printed and became the petition books for the first 1,000,000 physical signatures.
A Global Movement
UpForSchool gathered momentum with rallies in the UK, the Philippines, Norway, India, Kenya and DR Congo. Campaigners used the toolkit (and whatever they had to hand) to create their own petition books, banners, posters and placards.
The petition grew to ten million signatures collected from around the world and delivered to the UN in New York in September 2015.
